Codrut
Codrut is our main translator / facilitator. "Cokes" is a 22
year-old university student, who also works part-time at Third Age Foundation,
a Romanian foundation where we corroborate on selected projects.

|

Codrut works with us on many projects. He has a gentle way
with senior citizens and children; plus he is very professional and knowledgeable
about business practices and ethics. Pictured (above) is Cokes at a home
for ill / elderly people. With his assistance, Heart for Romania fitted
and presented these three women with reading glasses. |
Adina
Adina is a kindergarten teacher who is also studying psychology.
She is a quiet, sensitive young woman who is very professional and pleasant
to work with. Here Adina has just surprised Jean with a birthday gift: fresh
flowers and a blanket.

|

Adina loves to visit the senior citizens with us. She is so compassionate;
the older people just love her. In the photo (above), Adina has just presented
this pensioner a "name card" - a floral postcard inscribed with
the resident's name. They treasure our little presents, but the real gift
is a kind word and a gentle touch.

Crina
16-year-old Crina is a sweet young gal with a bright future.
Crina is pictured (below) on her 16th birthday.

|

Kids love Crina, and she works well with them. Pictured above is Crina
helping with a banana distribution at the girl's orphanage in Orlat. |
Sorin
Sorin is our neighbor who has also become a good friend and an occasional
translator. He's a busy young man with a promising future as a television
reporter / photographer.

|

We frequently take two or three translators to assist with projects that
involve large groups of people. Here, Sorin and Crina work on a "photo-badge
project" at a girls' orphanage. We make a regular production line,
taking Polaroid photos of 100-or-more residents; cutting a circular image
out of the photo; assembling the photo-badge in our Badge-A-Minit buttonmaker;
and then presenting them to each person. Such a project takes several hours,
but the finished project is a treasure, and the joy on the recipient's faces
is priceless! |
Marieta
Dave met Marieta because of an orphanage-exchange: when
he went to visit the orphans at Orlat, in Transylvania, those residents
were enjoying the Black Sea, and the girls from Constanta were visiting
Transylvania. She has a wonderful command of English, and is mature and
diplomatic.

|

Mature beyond her years, Marieta, at age 17, negotiated for us during
the purchase of our apartment.
